Importing Midi Files - Noob question

I'm trying the demo version of Show Cue to see if it will work for my live band production controlling backing tracks and lights.
I'm trying to load a .mid file as one of the sub-cues, but can't figure out how to get it loaded. (the menu only allows audio files)
Is this a limitation of the demo version or am I missing something.
I followed the help file steps, but couldn't find the options that were shown on the screenshots.

This looks like exactly the program I'm looking for, if I can figure out how to add the midi files.

Thanks for the help with such a basic question.

The demo version doesn't support MIDI files, so I've emailed you details of how you can test this functionality.

Hi av8r165 . . . Welcome to the forum and I hope your evaluation of SCS is satisfactory.

I've been using SCS in this way for some time now and you might like to check out a couple of articles on my website (http://www.soundachievements.com/SA_Web ... cle_1.html and http://www.soundachievements.com/SA_Web ... SCS_1.html which will hopefully explain a few things to you.

I'd be happy to 'chat' with you a bit further on this issue if you'd like to contact me direct (martin@soundachievements.com) . . . . .

Cheers . . . Martin

Martin,
Thanks for the info. I found your posts via an earlier web search and that's what prompted me to explore SCS.
My planned setup is very similar to what you have.
I'm still waiting for delivery of my audio interface, but once I have the system put together, I may take you up on the offer to share your experience with this type of setup.

Thanks,
Mike

I got the midi files to load correctly, but I'm having an issue with playback.
I'm using midi note commands to change lighting scenes, but I get random blackouts.
The lighting scene should stay on until the next "note on" command is sent to the controller.
During several scene changes, the scene goes black until the next midi note is sent.
It looks like I'm getting a "note off" command sent somehow.

I'm using an M-audio Fast Track Ultra audio interface with a Windows XP laptop.

The midi file works correctly with the lights when I play it back using Cubase and the M-Audio interface, so the problem doesn't appear to be with the light controller or the interface.

Is there a setup step that I'm missing?

Thanks,
Mike

Can you email me the MIDI file and also your cue file (the .scs file)?
