GoTo Loops

I'm having some trouble with loops created with the "goto" note cue.

The setup is I have a music file cue. Followed by an "auto start" image cue that starts at 0 sec after the start of the music. This is followed by several more image cues creating a slide show. At the end of these I have a Note "goto" cue to loop back to the first image cue. This all works as expected. The problem comes in how do you stop the loop.

My first thought was to use an SFR cue auto triggered to the end of the music track set to "stop all running cues". But the loop repeats. I have tried "stop all previous cues" and setting the auto start times to various times as well as executing the cue as manual. The only thing I have found that will stop it is the Esc key. Has anyone used this and what am I missing? :?

I think that this may have something to do with the fact that the "goto" is in a Note cue and Notes are not actionable.

Fortunately I am not in production on the show that I want to use this for yet. :)

I'm running the latest production version 10.6.03

Hi Dngnkeeper

Try this work around, as I also found I could not escape the goto loop
Create another Note goto cue outside of the first loop and assign the cue to a hotkey, the goto should jump to the next cue following your loop.

I found this worked for me. You may have to include sub cues to cancel any running audio, video etc.

e.g.

Q1 Audio
Q2 Image
Q3 Note - goto Q1
Q4 anything (stop running cues)
Qn
Q99 Note - goto Q4 (assigned as hotkey)

Hope this helps

Hi Dngnkeeper,

of course this is a really late reply, but I just encountered a similar situation. I am currently using SCS 10.8.4 which has an Option to "'Complete' all associated auto-start queues" in an SFR queue. Even if this doesn't help you anymore, maybe someone else will stumble across this thread...
