I'm creating a multi-media show where multitrack audio /midi files played by one system need to be synced to video that I'm starting via MIDI messages on SCS.
I'm creating .avi video files, and calling them up via midi program change 1-127.
So esentially, random access to the videos based on the program change value SCS gets sent from the midi sequence.
There is some understandable lag between when the midi signal is sent and the video starts playing, which I can account for in the .avi fil by time compensating it.
The problem is this lag isn't consistant. I'll get it to playback perfeclty in sync during one session, only for it to be off by a quarter note or more on different sessions. It's very unpridictable.
Any pointers on how to increase reliability?
I want to love this program for my needs, but as of now, it's not cutting it.
Thanks!

Re: Demo user, video playback problem.
Todd, could you email me a diagnostic file? You can create this file by selecting 'Create Diagnostic File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Diagnostics" under "Documents" or "My Documents".
Re: Demo user, video playback problem.
Hi Mike,
I had some success eliminating the variable lag delay by changing the video library in options to Direct show with the VMR-9 renderer.
Over a couple sessions, the playback started in the same spot on several test videos using this configuration.
The computer I'm testing the software on is a top end i7 laptop with a really nice video card, but I the computer I'll be using for the future production won't be. I am worried that I'll have problems with lower end equipment.
I'll email you the file. Where should I sent it?

Ok. I see your email there. I just sent you the diagnostic file.
