Cue state 'Not Loaded' even when it's the next cue to play

Post by mattdowning » Fri Jul 28, 2006 1:18 am

I have a couple of cues that remain in a state of 'Not Loaded' even when they are next on the list and I need them to play.

The cue that precedes these cues has 13 subcues and these cues have 3, 4 and 6 subcues respectively. I'm guessing that this is something to do with the problem.

Are there some guidelines as to sensible numbers of sub cues?
Is there any way of increasing the number, by allocating more memory or something?

Cheers,
Matt

SCS loads up to 15 audio files at a time, plus audio files for any hot key cues or files kept open because they are in standby mode.

Having 13 sub-cues for one cue sounds a lot - may be you're using them in a way or for a purpose I hadn't anticipated. Could you give some info on how you are using the sub-cues and why this results in having so many?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply - now I understand about pre-loading 15 cues.

I had 13 subcues because I was making a battle scene and I had each burst of gunfire or bomb as an individual subcue. The reason for this was to keep it flexible so I could alter all the timings and levels during rehearsal, to get something that fitted tightly to the action.

I easily got around the problem by mixing it down to just 3 or 4 tracks, which still left enough flexibility.

Cheers,
Matt
