Trigger Hotkey from DMX, Stage or LX Console?

This has just landed in my lap that needs sorting before technical rehearsals in four weeks...

On stage there is a live act that is partly ad-lib and will vary with each performance.

They want to be able to trigger a lighting cue simultaneously with a sound cue.

1. The ASM/Show Caller could call a "GO" for both LX and SX, but this would be tricky with the unpredictability of the performance!
2. LX could send DMX to their lighting and to SCS simultaneously so that a Hotkey sound is triggered (the SFX won't be in the same order for each performance);
3. Ideally the artists on stage would control the sound and lighting - but how?

Do I use this: https://response-box.com/gear/decabox-dmx-to-midi/ to convert DMX to MIDI, or should I just take a DMX feed from LX (about 60 metres away) and get it into SCS with an ENTTEC box?

Any help/direction muchly appreciated...

I don't know anything about the DecaBox but receiving DMX via an ENTTEC USB PRO or ENTTEC USB PRO MK2 should work for you. Note that you will need to upgrade your SCS Professional license to SCS Professional Plus to handle DMX.

I know that some users have implemented this type of control but I'm not sure what wireless devices they used. The scenario here would (or could) be that the remote device triggers a cue in SCS, and SCS sends DMX or MIDI to the lighting board.
