I have just been using a house system with 2 sound cards controlling 4 speakers.
I want to do the same with my laptop.
I have an inbuilt soundcard and use an external Tascam US144MkII.
Is there a way of using both at once to get 4 outputs or can you recommend an external card with 4 outputs?
Thanks

Re: Soundcards and laptops
You should be able to use both the inbuilt soundcard and the external interface, but note that different interface devices may have different latencies. So if you play an audio file cue to both interface devices, what you hear may not be quite in sync between the different outputs.
Regarding recommended external cards, there are many to choose from and it mainly depends on your budget. See supported audio devices. I suggest you start at the end of this topic and work backwards as some of the earlier-mentioned devices may be obsolete.

Re: Soundcards and laptops
I now have an Allen and Heath QU16 digital mixer. Has anyone here used this via USB link to a PC running SCS. Any hints and tips please.
Thanks

Re: Soundcards and laptops
We use SCS all the time with a QU32 sending both audio and midi over the USB link, no problems & rock steady
what sort of help do you need?
