What driver does this use? The ENTTEC devices use the D2XX driver from FTDI Chip, so SCS currently checks for the existence of the D2XX library and uses functions in that library.simonegiusti wrote:What about this cheap interface DMX-USB???

Re: DMX Send coming in SCS 11.5!
Hi
I've received the Enttec DMX USB Pro MK2 today.
I will start some tests this sunday. I have not dmx devices at home.
I have a question about dmx fade time.
In the user manual you explain that only suported devices will be able to play the fade.
This means that my old "dimmers" where I connect incandescent fixtures will not be able to play fades, isn't it?
Thanks for your kind help.
Lluís

The 'Help' is probably worded badly. The text I presume you are referring to is "Optionally, some or all of these value settings may be adjusted over a DMX Move Fade Time to provide fading or movement (if supported by the fixture)." You may have a lighting fixture that supports fade but not movement, so 'movement' is not supported by the fixture. Or you may be sending DMX to a device that basically only detects on/off. I wouldn't expect you to have any issues regarding DMX fades with your incandescent fixtures.Buyaicia wrote:I have a question about dmx fade time.

Hey Mike
If SCS could support the Ultra DMX Micro from Dmx King: http://dmxking.com/usbdmx/ultradmxmicro that I use for the light version of Lightfactory, then I would be willing to help and run some test's too - lights, smoke, shutter ect.
It uses FTDI driver.

Re: DMX Send coming in SCS 11.5!
According to their web site, this device has "Enttec Pro compatibility", which means that SCS should be able to handle this device with minimal change. I need to know what name the driver publishes so that SCS will recognize it. I've emailed you details of a tracing version of SCS to run, so could you connect your Ultra DMX Micro to a USB port, start the tracing version of SCS, and then go to Production Properties / Devices / Control Send Devices and select DMX Send? What physical devices are shown? Email me the SCS log file as this will contain the information I need.allcomp wrote:Hey Mike

Re: DMX Send coming in SCS 11.5!
Hi,
Today I've done my first test with scs 11.5.0f and Enttec dmx usb pro mk2.
I have 8 old 6 channel dmx dimmers for incandescent fixtures.
Setting lights in live OK.
Lots of diferent values to individual and groups of channels in diferent cues OK.
I expected cues with fade times would not work, but it works!!!!! This means that the Enttec controller is who sends the sequence of values to fade, great!.
Diferent fade times in the same cue OK.
All tests have been successful.
No bugs to report.
Regards,
Lluís

Hey Mike
I´ve had the same experience as Buyaicia with my Ultra DMX Micro.
It all works fine. Also no bugs to report.

Re: DMX Send coming in SCS 11.5!
I found a USB-DMX cable named RS845-WE.
Installed drivers from FDTI.
It seems to compatible with Enntec but it does not work with SCS.
Maybe is it the wrong interface ??
SCS allow to select it in device control send.

Re: DMX Send coming in SCS 11.5!
Is there any scope for adding Art-net output rather as well as Entec DMX?
I have a number of small shows that I currently use an Ipad with a very simple lighting programme running and SCS to run everything else, all going to a wifi AP and a artnet receiver for the system.
If SCS could output Artnet everything would be on the same cue list, on one device.
We are only talking fade states in and out etc so the current SCS editor would be no problem to use.
Regards
Rob
