Video not activating after pressing Go

Post by Soundo » Wed Jul 08, 2015 9:05 am

Dear Mike,
I am running a show with 5 video cues running as separate cues but running consecutively. Each cue is an AVI file of about 2 minutes. This has run successfully throughout the rehearsals but last night for Dress rehearsal it failed to run after pressing the space bar. The video was tested with the projector prior to the performance and worked OK. I noticed that the progress cursor was moving indicating that it was running but nothing on the screen. Because it was a dress rehearsal (no audience) I moved the mouse cursor over the remote screen and it displayed the mouse arrow so this indicated that the remote screen was working. I eventually was able the get the cues to run but it stopped after the third cue. After the performance I repeatedly tested the cues with no problems.
I am using Windows 7, core I7 2.7 GHz, 4 GB Ram 64 Bit. I am running SCS 11.3.8. Video playback library xVideo, Video renderer VMR-9 Windowless.
Can you offer any suggestions? The director is very nervous.

Thanks

Rob

Rob,

Check that in Options you have "Max. No. of Video Files to Pre-Open" set to at least the number of video files you have in the production.

Could you email me a diagnostic file? You can create this file by selecting 'Create Diagnostic File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Diagnostics" under "Documents" or "My Documents".

Just noticed you also reported a problem with video jitter recently, which was fixed by changing the video renderer. Your computer specs look adequate for video playback, so I'm wondering if there's some other hardware problem. If you're at dress rehearsal stage then I guess you open very soon, but if you have time (and possibly another computer available) then could you try using SCS 11.4.0 and selecting the TVG video playback library? If so then please read the info about TVG in the SCS Help - see Video Driver Settings.
