USB 8 Channel 12v Relay Module For switching devices
Hi
I have been experimenting with this relay controller
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171362821049? ... EBIDX%3AIT
It works well but I can’t get SCS to initiate it from start up
Only if I use the USB 8 Relay Manager program supplied with unit first will SCS trigger it afterwards
As this is inconvenient for novice operators it would be nice SCS could initiate it
Has anyone any experience with unit who could help please
Thanks
David

Hi David,
I would also be interested in this, I have posted recently about relay boards.
Hopefully someone, perhaps Mike will be able to assist.
cheers
Geoff.

I haven't used any relays myself, but if anyone is having trouble getting a relay to work with SCS then I can provide a tracing version of SCS that may help me see what's happening. Please email me if you need this.

Mike
I can't get SCS to start the relay system. Maybe it needs to open a com port?
The system comes with a testing program, once I have used this program and shut it down.
SCS will then switch the relays perfectly until next time windows starts.
Regards

Re: USB 8 Channel 12v Relay Module For switching devices
I presume the board you are using is the Denkovi USB Eight Channel Relay Board for Automation. I've just emailed Denkovi for sample code for controlling this board, and I can then see how that compares with the what is currently available in SCS.

Re: USB 8 Channel 12v Relay Module For switching devices
I have used this relay card successfully for some time with the limitations stated above.
Having updated to the latest version of SCS it will not work at all
Has something changed?

I don't know why this would have changed. I've emailed you details of a tracing version to run.

Re: USB 8 Channel 12v Relay Module For switching devices
I have used this USB relay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-Relay-Con ... 4155277fbe
controlled by two simple RS232 commands ("relay_on" and "relay_off"!) from SCS.
I have no connection with the manufacturer, but I have bought and used the above relay as described.
There are also 2 and 8 relay versions, which I have not used
