Selecting which secondary screens for video playback

Post by dennis » Sun Jan 05, 2014 8:27 am

Hi,

i upgraded today from 10.8.4 to 11.2.5 and now i've got a problem.

OS: Windows 7 x64, 3 displays connected, 2 TFT (in the control booth) and 1 projector
In Windows they are aligned like this:
Screen 3 (secondary, extended, => Projector) leftof screen 2 (secondary, extended, TFT2 showing SCS) leftof screen (primary, TFT1 showing remote software of our lighting desk)

With 10.8.4 everything worked, videos were played back on the 3rd screen (projector). However after the upgrade to 11.2.5 both secondary screens (screen 2 and 3) get blanked once i've added a video cue. Hence SCS is not visible anymore.

Is this a bug or "works as designed"?
If the second option, is there a workaround? Some way to configure that only screen 3 should be used for video playback?

thanks,
Dennis

Could you email me a diagnostic dump file? You can create this file by starting SCS (on the computer with the 3 displays connected) and selecting 'Create Diagnostic Dump File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Dumps" under "Documents" or "My Documents".

I see the issue and I'll work on a solution over the next few days. However, I'm puzzled by your comment that SCS 10.8.4 played videos to the 3rd screen, because SCS 10 only uses screens 1 and 2. Did you change the screen settings so that when using SCS 10 you had your projector as screen 2?

First off I'm using images not videos, i guess images are done differently. Sorry that i didn't clarify this in the first place.

The screen configuration was not changed for years. So i tested again with 10.8.4, it works. Images are shown on the 3rd screen. No matter if SCS is running on screen 1 or 2.

I intended to test that with videos, too but i haven't found a single one on that machine.
