I recently installed the 10.4.1 demo on a machine that I already use ProTools LE 7.1 on. SCS works fine. ProTools works fine in playback mode, but when I went to record through the M-Box interface, the input was all distorted.
I mostly import tracks, and don't record very often so it took me a while to realize that the installation of SCS was the only difference from the last time I recorded. I uninstalled SCS and everything was back to normal.
Any ideas on what the conflict would be, and if it can be solved?

Re: Conflict with ProTools LE
No ideas on what would cause the conflict? I want to purchase and start using SCS in September for my new season, but I can not have a conflict with ProTools.

Re: Conflict with ProTools LE
No ideas on this, and can't see how having SCS installed could affect any other program. SCS uses the BASS audio library, and the required audio library dll's are installed in the SCS application folder, not in the Windows system folder.
Is the ProTools recording only distorted when SCS is actually running?

SCS was not even running at the time. Does the install of SCS do anything to the ASIO drivers for the M-Box.

Re: Conflict with ProTools LE
SCS doesn't touch the ASIO drivers. Although SCS wasn't running at the time, had it previously been running since the last boot of the machine? If so, then possibly SCS left a process active that was trying to feed ASIO output. A re-boot (and not starting SCS) should fix that. SCS shouldn't be leaving anything running, but if it did then this could explain the issue.

Re: Conflict with ProTools LE
SCS had definitely been running since the last reboot when this happened. I will investigate your suggestion and report back.
Thanks.
