Recommended Laptop External Sound card

Post by julieleanne » Mon Oct 20, 2008 8:28 pm

G'Day all, :D

I am currently sound designing and operating for our local theatre company in Murwillumbah Australia (and thoroughly enjoying it!)

my question relates to future productions where i might have to have stereo FOH and also speakers on stage... all operated through SCS on my new Toshiba Satellite Laptop. can any one suggest a cheap (under $500AUD) external soundcard that can give me 4/5 channel output???

cheers, Julie

Julie,

If you have a firewire interface on your laptop then an M-Audio Firewire 410 would be a good choice. A Google search of Australian sites listed (amongst others) http://www.electricroom.com.au/brands/M-Audio who have the 410 listed at about $479 (including GST, but freight would be extra).
