what is your setup like

Hey,

I am designing a system for a theatre in Vancouver Canada and I was wondering what other people have used for computers and hardware in there respective setups.

Cheers

I have a pair of older Dell Optiplex GX260/270 desktops, each has roughly:

- 1.8gHz Pentium
- 1gb RAM
- 15" LCD monitor, 1024 resolution
- 2 full size card slots (for M-Audio Delta cards)
- USB 2.0
- CD-R drive
- Windows XP SP2
- no networking
- no firewire (unfortunately)
- screensaver turned off, power setting to never stop disks or standby/shutdown.
- SCS and Goldwave are the only programs installed

The CD drives are a bit slow on this machine for ripping, but otherwise the capacity is more than enough for SCS. I've run pretty demanding shows with 5.1 AC3 files, several clips overlaid, etc. Cpu never seems to be utilized more than 20% or so. And my Windows memory commit never approaches the 1gb real memory limit, so paging is at a minimum.
