SCS bug (or my bad programming!)

Post by Boswell » Mon May 19, 2008 5:31 am

Hi Mike,
I'm getting errors with SCS that I can't resolve.
Firstly SCS works fine with the show file for the last show and I can use the editor on it.
Then I created a new show 'Oklahoma' and started putting the midi cues in last night. all ok.
Tonight when I try to enter the editor for the Oklahoma file I get error 457, if I then OK it I get error 91, error 91 repeats 9 times then I get 457 again and the cycle repeats.
But if I load the old file for the last show, everything is fine, then load the new show file and the same problem occurs.
The problem is obviously with the new show file but I don't know what. The USB midi device is installed and selected in SCS and the audio devices are correct.
Tried rebooting, reinstalling SCS. If you can't point me in the right direction, I'll have to try recreating the new show from scratch!
I've tried exporting the cues into a new file and also creating a new production folder both with no luck
Hope you can help.

Found the fault, some how it had allowed me to generate 2 cues with the same number!

Found it by importing the cues one at a time into a new file, took a while but I got there.
Only an evening lost, :-( have to carry on with the show editing tomorrow!
regards
Boswell

Strange bug there. I've looked at the .scs file you emailed me, and see that you have two cues '310'. SCS does check for duplicate cue numbers, so do you recall anything unusual about setting up these two cues? For example, did you use the 'Renumber Cues' feature, or cancel an edit after adding a cue, or anything else that may explain how the normal validation procedure was skipped?
