9.5.3: Save Manual Level Change on Playlists

Post by Dan » Mon Apr 21, 2008 9:30 am

Mike, I've got a show in which I'm using several playlists, and I thought that in previous versions, if the level was manually changed on a playing cut (in the production screen), I was able to permanently save the new level via the "Save Settings" button (under the Editor button). The process works as expected for non-playlist cues. But on individual playlist cuts, when the level (or Pan) slider is changed, the heading correctly adds "(Manual)", but the Save Settings button doesn't unghost. Is that intentional, or did a bug creep in? I would definitely like to be able to modify and save the level of individual cuts within a playlist at runtime.

Thanks!

I've got an addition to my earlier post, Mike. On my laptop (Toshiba Satellite, wide display), the "Level" and "Pan" headings over the performance screen sliders don't display at all. On my desktop, the headings display as expected, but on the widescreen laptop, they are absent. The sliders still seem to work as expected, (minus the "Save Settings" capability on Playlists noted in my earlier post), but the slider captions are missing. There doesn't appear to be an appreciable difference in row height between the two computers' displays, nor are any other headings on that line missing. in additon, the captions are not just missing from the first displayed cut, but they are missing from all lines containing the level/pan sliders. If you'd like me to send you a screen shot, just let me know.

The "Save Settings" button doesn't apply to Play Lists. This could (and probably should) be implemented, but it is complicated by the fact that Play List levels are determined by a combination of the sub-cue's master level and the audio file's relative level.

I don't know why you would be missing the captions on your wide screen display - a screen shot may be helpful.
