Multi output routing

Post by Nigel Bayliss » Tue Jan 16, 2007 8:58 am

Looking at buying the pro version of this excellent piece of software for professional theatre use, so am trying out the demo version. My problem seems to be in assigning the routing to multi outputs...say 6-8 individual speakers. I am using a Focusrite Saffire Pro 26 i/o sound 'card', which connects to my windows xp laptop via firewire. Once connected, I can go into SCS in the Production edit window, and my Focusrite shows up in the devices drop down menu no problem (it shows the Focusrite in output pairs). However, as expected, there are 8 lines available for the maximun 8 speaker assigned outputs, but I can only select the first two...the rest are grayed out. This means that I cannot at the moment assign eight separate...or indeed 4 pairs of outputs, which in turn means I cannot experiment with panning the sound around the auditorium and onto stage for surround sound. I've tried changing the settings in the options menu, but so far no luck. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, this is one of the limitations of the demo version. If you look at the feature compare page, you will see that the demo version is limited to 2 pairs. See also Note 4 on that page.
