Apparent Instability of 9.2.X
Apparent Instability of 9.2.X
Mike had warned of possible instability of 9.2.X, but I mounted a show using it anyway. Using a PIII 966, 768mem, Darla 24 card I had intermittent failure of one channel. I even changed cards (I have 2 Darlas) but it still crapped out. Finally I reverted to 9.1.6 and every thing is fine. There were some error messages but in the heat of techs, I couldn't record them. Something to do with a runtime error. I can't afford to test for errors in production.

i agree,
i think stability is so much more important than any features or functions,
i also had huge problems with 9.2 - random error messages (the one saving grace in our tech was that sound cue system restarts very quickly)
am using 9.1 currently, and still having issues with it
i think a lot of the problems occur when i try to do anything quickly, like selecting another cue further down the list and opening the editor before the new cues are loaded. which is somewhat avoidable, but slow.
what this program offers is fantastic (wouldn't be able to do my current show without it) and i would love to be able to have confidence in it.

We may be on the verge of a break-thru with the 9.2 stability issues. A user who could not get 9.2 to run properly has just successfully tested a new version. In that new version I removed one of the significant architectural mods that was introduced in 9.2. I would like to be able to confirm that this new version fixes the other errors as well, before issuing a general release, so if anyone is in a position to be able to test this version and is able to assess whether or not it fixes errors they encountered in previous 9.2 versions, then please email me.
