Using cue markers to change images
I am a new user and have looked at tutorials and the Help menu and cannot find what I am looking for which is to use cue markers in an audio file to change from one image to another. We display lyrics on a screen for the choir to sing with. We use Powerpoint slides with each slide having two or three lines of lyrics. I would like to use cue markers in the audio file to select the next image, but have not figured out how I can do this. Can someone assist me? We don't need to run PowerPoint as we can export the slides as jpgs. Thanks.

Re: Using cue markers to change images
Jim,
We are currently preparing a new set of video tutorials which will totally replace the existing tutorials. Since you are asking about cue markers, I have now uploaded the new SCS Cue Markers video tutorial to SCS Videos. Although this tutorial describes a scenario where cue markers are used to trigger lighting sub-cues, you can use the same approach to trigger image sub-cues.
Please let us know if this tutorial helps or if you need more info.

Re: Using cue markers to change images
Mike,
Thank you for your response and for posting the new tutorial. I watched it, but still have questions. Let's say that I set cue marker 1 and then setup a subcue to display Image 1 when cue marker 1 is reached. I also setup a later cue marker 2 and a subcue which display Image 2 when marker 2 is reached. If Image 1 is displayed on Display 2 and Image 2 is displayed on Display 3, does Image 1 stop displaying when marker 2 is reached? In other words, do subsequent markers cancel the action of the previous marker?
I have a second question. If I want to set up a cue to display all images in a folder for X seconds, how do I do that? Screen captures would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Jim Norman

Re: Using cue markers to change images
Jim,
The cue markers do not control what happens in other cues - they can just be used by other cues to trigger their starts. So the matter of when a cue's image is stopped is not directly related to the occurrence of a cue marker.
If you have a cue currently displaying an image on screen 2 and another image cue is started that displays an image on screen 3, then the image on screen 2 continues to be displayed, assuming the 'Display Time' has not been reached. The image on screen 2 will only be stopped if (a) the Display Time is reached, (b) an SFR cue is actioned to stop the cue that displayed that image, or (c) another video/image cue is started that displays on screen 2.
Regarding your second question, although you cannot select a folder, you can select all the images in a folder. For example:
I then clicked 'Open'. SCS then asked if I wanted a separate cue for each image, or just one cue. I chose one cue.
Now consider the following:

The steps I took were as follows:
Maybe we'll create a new video tutorial for this!

- Pressed Ctrl/A to select all images
- Set the Display Time to the time every image is to be displayed (6.5 seconds)
- Set the Transition info to a 1 second cross-fade, which again applies to all the images selected.
Maybe we'll create a new video tutorial for this!
