Workaround for using audio interface?

Post by tomrijndorp » Tue Sep 26, 2006 1:02 am

Hi,

I'm using a Motu Ultralite interface together with SCS. The strange thing is, SCS works alright with the interface, but the first time I load SCS it won't start up if it doesn't find some sort of standard audio card with an onboard mixer, like a Realtek card.

My problem: I'm using SCS on a computer that has the Ultralite connected, but has no onboard audio device installed. So when I fire SCS, I get an error, saying that no mixer was detected and SCS shuts down.

Is there a workaround for this problem, other than installing an onboard soundcard?

Thanks in advance.

I'm using SCS with a Presonus Firewire adaptor. I found I had to have the adaptor plugged in and the software onboard or SCS woul dnot see it. Basically I had to start SCS second.

Dropped the Firewire because of performace issues.
