This is pretty far off topic but does anyone know of a device that will input audio and output a MIDI note or command in response?
Our school board bought the theater program a mixing console with no MIDI capability. Previously, the old mixer could send a MIDI command every time the mixer changed "scenes". I intercepted that MIDI with SCS and used it to trigger SCS cues. So having a mixer now that can't send MIDI, my only thought was to have some scenes include an oscillator output and other scenes turn the oscillator off. There's no chance of SCS actually listening to a Live Input and taking action based on presence or absence of sound, but maybe someone knows of a device that would turn the presence or absence of sound into a MIDI command that I could feed SCS. Long shot - but what better place to ask?

Hello,
perhaps https://github.com/ETCLabs/Sound2Light can help. Never got it working but maybe You are lucky.

Thanks so much. This looks like a bit of over-kill but if I can get it to work it would solve the problem. I never would have stumbled onto this. Thanks so much.
Re: Sound-To-Light
Just a quick update - this is horribly quirky piece of unfinished software, I can't believe that ETC allows their name to remain on it, but I did get it to work. It's designed to communicate with ETC lighting consoles but it does offer a Custom output that allows you to adjust the command set to work with SCS. If found it tricky to get the networking piece to work but that was probably me, not the software. And it's got a quirk in that if you turn the sensitivity down too far, rather than trigger too often, it stops triggering. And if you create custom command strings, it will use them but the next time you open that window to see the commands, the dialog box snaps back to ETC settings. The custom ones are still there but it's unnerving when the dialog box opens and you're back to ETC. In fairness, I had a bit of trouble deciphering SCS' command set too. But in the end it all came together and seems to be working reliably.
Big thanks to Jörg for pointing me in the right direction! This is going to help the kids in our school musical immensely.
