Intermittent GO! Delay

Post by Chalky64 » Tue Dec 12, 2023 8:21 am

After creating a simple 5 cue project (all audio cues with manual start) I am sometimes experiencing a 1 second delay between pressing SPACE and playback of the file. This is very intermittent - most times playback is instantaneous - but every now and then the pause occurs.

I set registry idle times for the Realtek soundcard to 0 - but these were reset to 5 when I rebooted the laptop. I then set them to FF, which were retained after a reboot but sadly made no difference.

Setting 'Do NOT use WASAPI' and using the BASS mixer eliminates the intermittent 1 second pause, but all cues start a fraction of a second after pressing SPACE - so this is not a solution as the cues must start as soon as the operator hits SPACE as they are orchestral accompaniments for a piano concerto.

I am now extremely concerned that a pause may occur during the performance (this Sat 16th Dec). Is there any other setting (either within the program or in Windows 11) I could try?

If you sent a log file from a run where this happens to support@showcuesytems.com they will take a look.
Logs can be found in "documents\scs logs folder".
Please try to open the program and replicate the problem, avoid opening the editor et if possible.

Best regards, Dee.

Thanks Dee. I have sent logs in the past (albeit a long time ago!) so am aware of their location - but thought I'd ask here first in case I could save Mike the trouble of having to look into it.

The peculiar thing is that I have started SCS several times this morning and randomly selected cues in an attempt to trigger the issue - and every single time each cue started the moment I pressed SPACE. It's very strange as the problem was quite persistent yesterday (andn before), and I have not rebooted since it last occured...

Anyway - it goes without saying that there's no point sending anything for analysis until it does - but if and when it happens again I will forward the log as suggested.
