Hello everyone
I use SQS with X32Compact and X-Air 18, it works fine and i'm satisfied.
If there is enough space on the table, I use the X32
when I'm short on space I use the X-Air 18 and Behringer X-Touch
Now there are situations where I set up the technology and am not there myself to control it.
Here I would like to do the control with an older laptop, SQS and a USB audio interface.
As an interface I would use a manufacturer like: Use Focusrite, Roland, Steinberg, Tascam and so on.
Unfortunately I can't find any information on how to control this USB audio interface with SQS.
Many manufacturers provide their own apps to control these and most have MIDI inputs.
As far as the problem: Maybe someone here knows about it
and can give me tips on how to control these devices with SQS and possibly a purchase recommendation.
It is already clear to me that these devices are all visible as audio interfaces with multiple inputs and outputs
and can be controlled with SQS.
I'm not about recording with the inputs (like with a DAW)
I want to send commands on the inputs like [Mute] when the actor changes costume..
Since I do everything on my own: light, sound, video, playback, I am dependent on doing all the control with SQS
and only intervening manually in an emergency.
So please here the question again, which you was given excellent help in the past with the X32 and X-Air 18.
?? How does it work with the USB audio interfaces ???
Thanks Erwin

Re: USB-Audio Ingerface MIDI-Control [Mute]
Are you sure you can control mutes on these devices by MIDI? If you can find a device that supports this feature under Windows, and can locate a document with the relevant MIDI commands, then let me know. It should then be possible to control the mutes from SCS.
Re: USB-Audio Ingerface MIDI-Control [Mute]
Hi Mike
I assume strongly, because I can control this interface with the manufacturer's own software.
So there has to be communication.
Original from Focustite:
CONTROL YOUR FOCUSRITE INTERFACE – FROM YOUR MAC®, PC OR IOS DEVICE
Configure your routing and monitor mixes from Mac®, PC, iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch® with user-friendly control software Focusrite Control.
Control output levels
Control software playback levels and panning
Control hardware input levels and panning
Control mute and dim
View input and output metering
Control preamp features available on your connected Focusrite interface
Approve devices for control
The Focusrite model: Scarlett 4i4 3rd Generation supports MIDI
At this Link some User shows how it works so controll Focusrite:

And here ist the original Information from Focusrite:
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/ ... rite-units
And Radu Varga has writen some Software "Focusrite Midi Control"
consequently it must be possible to control focusrite with midi show control or similar commands

Re: USB-Audio Ingerface MIDI-Control [Mute]
Erwin,
I can control my X18 Air by Midi cues using USB
You probably need to be on at least firmware level 1.16 I seem to remember.
The details of the messages to send are included on page 30 of the Product Manual which if you got the mixer from e-Bay they may not have upgraded to and it may not have included the latest Product Manual.
I can't seem to attach a copy unfortunatly as it's a PDF file. but Email me if you need a copy.
Regards,
Phil Vale.

Re: USB-Audio Ingerface MIDI-Control [Mute]
Hello Phil Vale.
please excuse me, It's a misunderstanding,
SQS supports fine MIDI at X32 Compact and X-Air 18, it works fine and i'm satisfied.
The two devices are included in the device list and the HEX codes implemented by Mike.
everything is good work and fine..
I am looking for a smaller digital console or audio interface when space in the theater is very limited.
I have now found the Berhringer FLOW8 and i am thrilled.
It needs very little space, it has many effects, presets and I can control 4 different monitors with specific sound files with SQS.
MainLeft
Main right
Monitor/Aux 1
Monitor/Aux 2
It works with 5V USB power, (power bank) so I can use it on the go with battery speakers.
Now I use battery transmitters and receivers for microphones
It's perfect for me
The next step is to control the inputs with SQS and Midi commands.
