[Mod 11.8.3.2] DMX Capture for Lighting Cues
I am currently working on supporting DMX Capture for creating and editing Lighting Cues. If this is of interest to you please email me and I'll send you some info on this enhancement so you can comment on the proposed changes.

Hi Mike,
It's great feature if SCS can support dmx capture and editing, I would like to test it, Can you send me to my email for this?

Thanks, KAI, I've added you to the list. I'm still working on these changes but hope to have a version ready for testing soon - possibly next week.
Re: DMX Capture for Lighting Cues
I would also be interested in anything regarding SCS control over DMX cues.
Will it be possible to run SCS and lighting software on the same machine in order for them to "talk" to each other?
Regards,
Rob

Re: DMX Capture for Lighting Cues
Yes, this is quite feasible. I know that some users have LightFactory and SCS can send OSC Network commands to LightFactory. Any other software that supports network control could almost certainly be controlled from SCS by Control Send cues.
Re: DMX Capture for Lighting Cues
And I often use SCS to control Lightfactory, Mapio, Touchdesigner or Reaper with Loopbe virtual midi on the same machine. Loopbe1 is free. https://nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html. It has never failed me.Yes, this is quite feasible. I know that some users have LightFactory and SCS can send OSC Network commands to LightFactory. Interesting.
I am using Onyx as a lighting platform, and it can trigger cues off OSC, MIDI and also MIDI Time Code as it has a built in cue list that can be triggered at preset times. I will experiment and see which seems best for the job and get back to you.

Re: DMX Capture for Lighting Cues
As an update, having spent a bit more time burying my head in the Onyx manual, I can confirm that it will respond to MIDI Time Code via a software MIDI loopback on the same machine. It took me a little while to realise one must also add a timecode cue to start the timestream, and set it to stop and reset at the end, but after that it was a walk in the park.
One can then set up a bunch of lighting cues within Onyx timed to go off on timecode times, and then the list will reset and move to the next cuelist once the timestream drops.
I would also imagine this would work with most of the more sophisticated lighting control packages or consoles like Chauvet, MA, Hog etc.
