Hello, everyone,
we have recently started using SCS in our theatre. It is very easy to use and understand. We control the entire show via SCS (audio effects, video projections and also control our Zero88 lighting console via MIDI). Everything works so far, BUT:
In our current production we have a beamer that simulates weather moods on a window via a rear projection screen. The first video is a rain mood. The cue is started (set up as a slide show; the video is about 60 seconds long in MP4 format, it was duplicated (rain1.mp4 and rain2.mp4). The repeat option is activated and via crossfade both videos are played again and again. So far everything works perfectly. About 30 cues later the mood changes to snow. Do the same as above (2 videos of 60 seconds each, crossfade, MP4, repeat). To change the mood there is first a cue that fades out the rain video in 10 seconds (works) and a second cue that starts at the same time that fades in the snow video in 10 seconds. Sometimes it works, but mostly not, then the rain fades out and the snow cue runs, but nothing is shown. Whenever this happens, SCS will also not stop and hang up on exit.
I have already swapped rain and snow, same problem, only then the rain doesn't work.
I have tested it on different PCs from Intel i5 2nd generation with 4GB RAM up to i7 9th generation and 64GB RAM. Always the same problem. So it can't be a resource problem.
We use the latest version 11.8.2.2 in the Professional edition.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a bigger version? Does anyone have any ideas?
Regards
Dennis

Re: Video Problem
Dennis,
A log file will have been created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of the file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started. Please select a log covering a run that exhibits this problem and email the log file to support@showcuesystems.com.

Re: Video Problem
I usually do more work during pre-production so that production is as simple as possible.DennisNBN wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 6:19 pm(set up as a slide show; the video is about 60 seconds long in MP4 format, it was duplicated (rain1.mp4 and rain2.mp4). In case you comment, I would produce a rain and snow video 30% longer than required and avoid creating complex loops within SCS, and only do a crosfade between this two videos when needed.
