Firewire Interface Selection

I know there is a lot of information floating around on this, but perhaps it would be possible to do a listing of interfaces which have been tested and are known to work well with SCS. Specifically, I am preparing to buy a Firewire box with 8 balanced outputs. I want to make sure that it plays well with SCS for multichannel playback.

I only have experience of the M-Audio Firewire 410 and also the 1814. Both work very well- although I would like to use the ADAt out on the 1814 to take 8 channels directly into my digital mixer on an optical. The 8 analogue outputs on the 410 are unbalanced though and there are just 4 balanced outputs on the 1814. Do you need balanced out ? I have had no problems with reasonably short (1.5m) snakes.
