Can a MIDI controller be both In and Pass-Through?

I have a Behringer X Touch MIDI controller controlling SCS cues but I would also like us it to control my Behringer X Air 12. Is it possible to use the same controller for both MIDI In and MIDI through? I am currently using the demo version of SCS, I have the Pro version on another laptop.

In theory, you can connect midi out of X Touch to midi in of SCS and midi through of SCS to midi in of X Air 12.
The midi messages from X Touch should be readed by X Air 12 and SCS.
