wireless set up

Post by Meredith Stephens » Thu Mar 07, 2019 5:52 am

I run a small theatre that specializes in site-specific Shakespeare. Our shows travel room to room, indoors and outdoors. It's very low tech, but I'd like to use sound this year. Would I be able to use SCS (standard or professional) with several wireless speakers in order to have sound play everywhere at once? (I'm thinking, Bose probably offers wireless speakers.)

Thank you!

Okay. After some more research, it looks like I may need something like the Alto Stealth Wireless set up to several loudspeakers and a mixer. Will SCS support any mixer?

Should do, but note that there are basically two ways to handle this. If the mixer has a USB input connection for audio, and comes with a USB driver you can install on your computer, then that would be the preferred connection. SCS should be able to see that interface. Alternatively, you can drive the audio through an external audio interface unit, or even through the computer's headphone socket if you only need a single stereo output, and connect that to an appropriate input channel or two on your mixer.
