Good idea!
Seems simpler to do that, than the re-design I mentioned - especially since this would be an out-of-the-ordinary feature for 99% of the users.

Re: On-The-Fly Looping
My situation is probably different than your - I'm running recorded sound effects for old radio show recreations - using many of the actual actors from those shows &/or era. They're used to reacting to the audience (laughing, applauding, etc.), and will " hold " for that to die down before continuin...

On-The-Fly Looping
A feature, I would have found very useful this past weekend, is the be able to switch looping 'On' for a clip that is already running. We held an Old Time Radio shows convention and during several of the comedies the performers started ad libbing. It was great for evryone BUT me, since I had sound e...

Re: Low cost audio interface
These devices (what I was calling a USB thumb sound card) come in a variety of flavors, qualities and prices. You can even get them in HD &\or 4-channel for around $40 - the last time I checked. They'll usually work without any drivers and I keep one in my laptop bag just in case I ever have a probl...

Re: Windows Vista Ultmate and SCS
I've just got through running SCS on a Vista Ultimate laptop (DELL Inspiron E1505 with a replacement 2.3 duo processor) for a two day convention and I've had only a couple of minor problems (I know, I earlier said running XP was stabler, but I'm a tester and I needed to run this combo). Twice (only)...

Re: SCS constantly crashes
Also make sure that "IF" you are running Windows XP you have the latest (and MATCHING) updates for both the OS AND the sound cards (ESPECIALLY the onboard Realtek HD Audio Soundcard). Drivers keep changing and manufacturers often change chip sets in mid-production because they get a better price on ...

Re: Backup SCS computer
If you decide to use a KVM, make sure you run a test of disconnecting one (or more) of the cables from the back of the box while the computer is running. Some KVMs HATE THAT and will lock up your mouse & keyboard (and KEEP them locked up) until you reboot all the computers. Had this happen at work, ...

Re: Delta 1010LT
I hate to be the "Voice of Doom", but I ran into a guy who has three 1010s (the regular one, not the LT) and he's had two go bad on him. Now the bad news - he said they gave him no warning in either case. No burning smell; no overheating - they just stop working. He talked to the service rep, each t...

Re: SCS requesting a licence for downloaded music
Actually most audio editor programs will allow you to 'Import' a WMA file, then convert it to wav or mp3. Simply import the file into the editor, then turn right around and: 1. Go to: FILE (drop down menu) 2. "Save As". 3. Then go down to the bottom of the pop-up box and (from the last menu) select ...
