Re: Enable/Disable cue Cue
Another way to do this is to have two cue files, one for Cast A and the other for Cast B, each with the appropriate audio files. To make this easy for the operator, you could create two shortcuts, one to start SCS with the A cue file and the other for the B cue file. Following is the text from the S...

Re: Cue Activation External Trigger
Hi, Ok Many thanks, I 'll try this, but Externel Trigger is using for what? Thanks The following description for "External (Trigger)" is from the help file : ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is basically the same as Hot Key (Trigger) except that the cue is expected to be activated ...

Re: SCS and DMX
ckater, As I indicated in an earlier post in this topic, I was able to get SCS to behave fairly well with the current implementation, so even if Mike doesn't get to implementing the improvements in time for your production, you may be able to get it to work. Here is some more detail on how you might...

Re: SCS and DMX
Yep, that would work as well. Forgot about that feature that's available on most desks.lebem wrote:Wouldn't profiling the "dimmer" to be either 0% or 100% help with this? Our lighting tech does that all the time for control of things like foggers and other effects bits.

Re: SCS and DMX
Hmm, yes, Option (1) would be definetitely helpful (because it prevents problems, when a technician is going backwards or to a default cue), but if I'm not mistaken, we didn't solve the problem, that the console fires a lot of commands, if it is doing a fade (which is usually the case). Meaning, th...

Re: SCS and DMX
A change as you've both suggested is, as you point out, 'easy to implement'. I see two possible solutions: SCS to only trigger the action if the value changes from zero to any non-zero value. SCS to only trigger the action if the value changes to a defined value, provided that the value was zero at...

Re: SCS and DMX
I agree with ckater that the trigger should be a value increasing from zero and should only trigger once until after the value has returned to zero. I did some experiments with the present implementation and here are my findings: Let's say I've defined DMX address 25 as the SCS GO button. If the val...

I can also do some testing for you. I have an ENTTEC Open DMX Ethernet (ODE) device that can receive DMX and generate Art-Net packets for SCS.

Re: laptop and USB soundcard
In your case you could set up two device maps for your laptop, one for the theatre interface and the other for your built-in audio device. Please read help section "Audio Output Devices" under "The Editor -> Production Properties" for guidance. Then you can switch between the two maps depending on y...

Re: Wireless Remote Control of SCS?
For simple control such as running cues or navigating the cue list, you can do that with any device capable of sending telnet commands. I've done this with an android smart phone running an app called Blowtorch, which allows user defined buttons to be programmed with telnet strings. I've also used t...

Re: GO command via LS9
I haven't thought this all the way through, but would adding an "*" as a choice for controller value work? Choosing the "*" for the "GO" command would mean the GO gets triggered solely on the controller number and ignores the value. This could work for all commands that don't require a cue number, s...

Re: Newbie - output device question
Thanks - I dropped by the theater and the 2 channel device did show up in the pick list. However what (in my wish-for-world) that I would like to do (assuming that I can get the group board to free some money), is find a 4 output USB device. There seem to be a couple of possibilities like the Focus...

Re: Send held midi note on
When you send a Note On command, it's just a single packet with the note number and velocity values. It is up to whatever is receiving the packet how to respond, i.e. play a note until it receives a Note Off, for example.

Re: Newbie - output device question
The short answer is absolutely! Before starting SCS, just plug in the USB device and let it load its drivers (or do it manually if needed). Then when you run SCS, the new device/outputs will appear in the Physical Device dropdown list in the Audio Output Devices tab in Production Properties Devices....

Re: Losing USB port connection
Hi there, Check that all the power management setting on your computer are switched off, if your machine is going to sleep and cutting the power to it's USB ports that's going to switch off the AudioBox and SCS wont be able to reconnect when the computer wakes up. Hope this helps Cheers Richard In ...
