Re: Telnet for sending and receiving commands (in 10.6.1)

The Lanbox does have a physical MIDI port but I don't think it supports MIDI over TCP/IP. In order to use MIDI I believe we would need MIDI hardware on the computer as well as a very long MIDI cable. We alternate shows between two different performance spaces in our building. In neither case is soun...

Re: Telnet for sending and receiving commands (in 10.6.1)

I don't think there's really any documentation written the way you'd like to see it, but that's mostly because there's so little to document. The main documentation page is here: http://www.lanbox.com/support/support.html but it probably doesn't contain anything of interest to you. The full document...

Re: Telnet for sending and receiving commands (in 10.6.1)

I need some help with understanding the telnet sending mechanism and possibly a feature request to enhance it. How does SCS determine when to make a telnet client connection and when to end the connection? Does SCS properly detect when the connection is terminated by the server? We use a Lanbox (www...

Re: TCP/IP messages

I've had some partial success. I found this site: http://com0com.sourceforge.net/ which provides a couple of open source programs which create a virtual serial port and allow that port to be connected to a TCP/IP port. The LANBox has a fairly simple albeit terse command structure. A TCP connection s...

Re: TCP/IP messages

I haven't checked this forum for a while but I see that there have been a bunch of updated since 9.5.3. Is there any chance of TCP/IP messages being added as a form of control send? If not, how about the ability to run an external command? I could pretty easily write a Perl script to make the necess...

Low cost audio interface

I just wanted to post a link for anybody who might be interested. http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=CL-USCM2&cat=SND I just bought two of these. At $6.50 each I figured what's the worst that could happen. I won't say they're audiophile quality, but in our Black Box theatre we don't have much o...

I definitely agree that if the feature is added it should be optional. In the typical usage I see the operator is following along in a script with cues marked. I would expect hitting go to execute every cue and it would be confusing hitting GO once for every cue in the script sometimes got out of sy...

I'd like to add support for Dan's requests 2 and 3 (and I have no objection to 4 either) I'm using SCS for the first time on our holiday childrens show and I'd like to have the preshow music fade out, then resume where it left off when we get to intermission, then fade out again for act 2 and resume...

TCP/IP messages

Would it be possible to add the ability to send TCP/IP message similar to the way MIDI messages are sent in cues? The lighting control system we use is called a Lanbox (from http://www.lanbox.com) and it is a hardware appliance connected to our Ethernet network that is remote controlled over the net...
