M-audio firewire 1814 question-urgent
Hello all, I've got a show going up in less than a week and have set a theatre co. up with my design on their toshiba laptop (don't have exact specs but is certainly more than capable of handling SCS) connected to an M-Audio 1814 Firewire card via the 4-6 pin cable through the Toshiba's on board Fir...

maudio 410 question
I did take it up with Dell and they replaced the D810 with the newer D820. The b-ground noise that was being generated by the PSU is gone. There is still a significant high pitched whine when recording anything subtle. I look forward to SCS being available for the Mac platform as I would never spend...

equipment?
I've had good luck with all M-Audio products-including the 410. I'm currently using it with a Dell d820-no complaints. 2 fairly good sounding mic pres. 2 ch of headphone amplification. spdif/optical -in/out. 2 analog ins -8 analog outs- under $500.00. -MD.

external audio card for laptop
I've had good luck with the M-Audio firewire 410. Beyond all of its audio routing capabilities you also get two ch. of mic. pres and two headphone outs. -md.

numeric values for volume and pan
Hi Mike, I think the tooltip idea may work- I would still prefer to be able to look at currently running cues and upcoming cues and be able to quickly identify their vol and pan values without having to rollover. -md.

numeric values for volume and pan
part of me did enjoy asking an operator to turn it up to 1000 in vrs. 8! I think I'd push for the same numerical values set in the editor- therefore in db. Same with pan values- let's see the value we've set on the main running page. Hey Mike -what do you think? -MD.

numeric values for volume and pan
Having numeric values for volume and pan on the main page would be beneficial during tech. The changes in 9 make this issue somewhat better but I still want to be able to quickly look and see a value as opposed to a slider/fader position. -md.

as it turns out- Dell has finally acknowledged (at least to me) that this is a known problem with their Lattitude -and perhaps other- laptops. I was informed that a new Lattitude model is coming out at the end of March which will deal with this issue. In addition there is a built in Firewire connect...

cue repeating or skipping
Hey Mike -et al, Unfortunately the problem with the IBM/Maudio Audioplhile firewire card reared it's head -during a show. Ouch! The 1st Q -skipped- basically sounds like you've taken a small section and looped it- the SM and operator decided to stop the show and start over. This time without a hitch...

cues lagging or repeating
Hey Mike, Just to let you know that so far (knock on wood) those changes you suggested have taken care of the problem as it existed with the IBM and the Maudio firewire audiophile. Currently in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Canada Theatre New Brunswick- the last regional touring theatre co. in Cana...

I too discovered that the bulk of the problem went away upon unplugging the AC from the laptop- I however still find there to be a significant amount of b-gnd. noise (a high pitched hum) in any recording I make with the Dell and the 410- considering I have made recordings with this sound card on oth...

thanks for the input. i've pretty much determined that the cause of the problem is b-gnd noise created by the ac for the laptop- when it is running on battery power the noise goes away. this, as it turns out, is a common problem among Dell laptop users- I'm in the process of sorting things out with ...

Hey folks, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced Q's lagging or looping (not intentionally) while they are playing. EG. a Q that is a voice- over is running and suddenly two words begin to rpt. over and over until the all stop or Esc. buttons are pressed. I am currently working in a Universit...

maudio 410 question
Looking for feedback about unrelated sounds coming out of the physical analog outputs from a M-Audio 410. The card is connected to a Dell Lattitude D810 laptop via sidebus slot running Windows XP pro. I'm hearing a high pitched whine at times and 'digital' non-audio sounds when performing computer o...
