Re: newbie questions before diving into SCS
I suggest you to use sound editor program to combine files and save files in combination what needed in production. That solves glitches problem. I don't see reason to put many cues to auto-follow which are still same song. Best to play 1 edited file or if needed separate to 2 or so on.

Re: Using a pushbutton to control cues
Simple way: wlan and windows remote desktop. Can do all functions and wlan is covered usually quite well in whole stage. Then you can use very simple laptop etc. Only problem is video (because showing logging screen, I think can be done with remote assistance though). For sound you have to check rem...

Re: Multiple Monitor Support
I used 2 projectors with horizontal span and made double wide videos. Also you have to disable overlay in WMP (tools->options->performance->advanced->use overlays disabled). For ie normal PAL 720x576 so I made 1600x600 when I wanted 2 different videos showing. Problem is you have to use those both s...

Re: OFF TOPIC: VIDEO/presentation software?
For video presentation (multiple outputs)= Arkaos VJ You can do live fades etc effects, can control with DMX and also handles video input (for example camera thru firewire) and also multiple layers at same time. Not true cue software but because can control with dmx you can join videos to for exampl...

Yes only cue control with DMX. For ie with own dmx channels to go, stop, hot keys, arrow keys etc. Ideal situation would be pc with SCS running stand alone and controlling show with lighting desk. Usually there's much more light cues than sound, and easy to add sound cue "control cues" to lighting b...

I think there's no any general system. As far as I know, programs with dmx support uses couple of most popular systems (like in Arkaos or Chamsys) http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_menu=Products&prod=70303&show=downloads Enttec is one example but is quite popular and cheap. Enttec open dmx has on...

Yes many desks have midi in/out capability, but programming midi out with cues can be much harder or impossible in some desks. Dmx programming would be much more easier with for ie Compulite desks (you can not specify midi to cues, only to buttons). And could be same thing in some other desks also. ...
