Could be a RAM problem. SCS v9 requires 256Mb RAM. It wouldn't work properly on my laptop until I increased the memory to 256, and now it runs perfectly.

Sounds like a good idea. I've found the loop/loop release really useful for a few shows where singers have had songs with a section in the middle where they interract with the audience and the length of time this takes varies every performance. SCS has made this simple - almost as good as working wi...

Hi Malcolm, My laptop is basic, but (usually) stable. It has 4 USB ports, and a PS/2 port - I'll try putting the mouse in there and see what happens. As you say, the mouse and Sound Card are both USB 1.1, although the laptop ports are USB 2. Laptop specs: 1Gb processor, 40Gb HDD, 256Mb RAM, Windows ...

I'm using v9.2.6 I had manually set the buffers to 500, because in the last show I did, I had a very short loop (about 2 seconds) and with the buffer at 5000, it didn't release when the SFR cue was hit - it did another one or two cycles which was throwing the singers out of sync. The short buffer fi...

They were set at 500. I increased them to 5000 last night, and the problem didn't occur (Although, as I said it didn't happen every time, so I'll see how it goes tonight.) Also, I'm running SCS on a laptop, and I was using a USB mouse, which I unplugged - so that could have been part of the problem....

Tracks Pausing

In the last two shows I've done, I've occasionally had a problem withtracks pausing briefly (less than a second) unexpectedly. It wasn't the same track every night (In fact it didn't always happen) and it wasn't at the same point in the track. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone ha...

Hi there.

Although I agree with you that be able to rip from CD direct from SCS, I would suggest you use iTunes. Its free, it will rip to wav as well as MP3, and if you're connected to the net, it'll automatically name your files - saves time and it's quite efficient.

Cheers

I agree with Jason. I sometimes do shows with the local college, and often they will do two slightly different versions of the same play with the cues in a different order, or with extra/less cues. The ability to copy cues from one cue list to another would be of great benefit to me doing these show...

I use a USB keypad with my laptop. You can use the enter key as a Go button, and assign hotkeys to the numbers. This would allow you to have a remote control for SCS, and solve your problem. You can pick them up on the internet for around £5.

Hope this helps!

Renumbering Cues (in 9.2.1)

Hi Mike, It would be really useful, in the edit window, to have a button which will automatucally renumber the cues. What I mean is, sometimes I have been setting up a show, and either added or deleted cues, so that the cue numbering might go, for example... 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 etc, or 1, 2, 3, 3.1, 4, 5....

Loop Playlist (in 9.2.1)

It would be really useful to be able to loop the playlist - so when it gets to the end of the last track, it returns to the start of the list. I have done shows with a very long pre-show time (2-3 hours) and also had occasions (as I'm sure everyone has!) where a show has been substantially delayed f...

Fade option on new Playlist cue? (in v9)

Just a thought - it would be really useful to have the option on the new playlist cue (that we are all eagerly awaiting in v9!) to fade between the tracks. Just something simple like a 5 second cross fade (ideally with the ability to adjust the fade time), so pre-show music is continuous. Is this po...

Hi, We use a Sirius 24, and have so far been unable to find a way to get SCS to activate the GO button. We've tried many things, but nothing seems to work. I have activated various other external equipment using SCS (eg Mixing Desk Snapshot recall) with no problem, so the problem seems to lie with t...
