Sorry, I didn't completely finish my thought, Mike. Based on my responses above, I don't think having another column for "Marker" is needed. I think the changes to the status column and the coloring enhancements would take care of the need.
Thanks. John

Re: SCS plans for 2010
Hi Mike, I just fired up SCS to check on this issue. Looking a the top "Cue List": * Definitely the problem in my mind is that there is no separate color for the "next manual cue", to make it stand out. (This is in the top panel cue list.) * The Status column already tells you when a cue is fading o...

Re: Sound card selection
I've also got a couple of PCI-based M-Audio Deltas at the local theater where I help out, but I personally have a FastTrack Pro. I would guess that the PCI-based units are a bit more reliable since you don't have a cord to be yanked, and all of the communications circuitry comes with the product. Ho...

Re: SCS plans for 2010
Isn't this the STATUS column? Granted the Status column doesn't show a whole lot of value choices right now, you can can easily add more values to indicate different states.ColinBurgess wrote:I feel that having an extra column showing what is happening and what is coming next is a good idea

Re: USB2 interface
For firewire audio interfaces -- * my first step would be a Presonus Firebox with 6 analog TRS outs * next level up, M-Audio Profire 610, which is considerably more expensive. After that there are a few rack-mount M-Audio and Presonus firewire unit that will give you 8 analog TRS outs. YOu can also ...

Re: Problems with M-audio Fast Track Ultra
For me, SCS worked okay on my laptop when I was running Vista (I ran a dance show with it last year) ... it was other software programs that had problems, and general UI glitchiness that finally did me in. Vista is a known "problem" operating system and acknowledged as such by Microsoft ... they hav...

Re: Problems with M-audio Fast Track Ultra
Ugh .... unless you think you can solve this drive compatibility issue quickly, I'd suggest you seriously consider getting rid of Vista and going back to XP. That's what I did on my laptop ... made a big difference in overall performance and glitchiness, and a much higher level of comfort using all ...

Re: Problems with M-audio Fast Track Ultra
Do you have the latest M-Audio device driver? I would expect to see at least a few devices, one for 1/2, one for 3/4, one for 5/6, and one for "Multi". And, if you have ASIO support enabled, another device for ASIO.

Also, the 'Speakers/Outputs' drop-down list will only be populated with available speakers/outputs. For example, if a device is a stereo pair then the speakers/outputs included in the drop-down list (for that device) will only include "Left and Right (Stereo)", "Left (Mono)" and "Right (Mono)". Tha...

Re: Question about number of devices per cue
Each "device" slot in the cue property panel can be a mono, stereo, or multi-channel device. If you actually have a 6- or 8- channel audio file and play it through one of the "multi" devices it should come out on all channels using only the one device slot for that cue. Or playing through four stere...

Re: Apparent latency observed...
Marc, have you tried merging the two cues into one cue employing different output devices, and then have a level change cue at 1:24 to fade down your "cue 1" devices and fade up the "cue 2" devices? This is of course assuming you have enough device slots available to cover the union of devices used ...

If you're looking for a new group of beer-drinking buddies whom you can periodically meet with and talk shop, that's definitely a valid request ... :) But if you're looking for info on the types of cool things you can do with SCS, then I suspect the global forum will be much more informative. could this be related to the "static burst" issue we've seen (very intermittently) in the past?

Re: sneding a signle
Alex, the software will not pick up two separate mono audio files and put them together as a stereo pair. If you actually have two different mono audio files and you want to play one on L and the other on R, then you will have to specify the L and R audio devices in the audio cue definition. But in ...

Re: Windows 7
I just downgraded my Vista machine to XP Pro ... I'm not going to risk screwups in the middle of a performance using software with a historically poor reputation -- not to mention the general hassles I've had with Vista compared to it's stable predecessor. I've heard W7 is much better than Vista, bu...
