video image cues not remembering position settings
Hi, I'm a long long time SCS user, currently working on a show where the only cues are video image cues. Pretty simple, 5 cues. Projecting onto a smaller surface, so the image needs scaled and positioned. Here's the issue: I set the x-position, the y-position, and the scale for each image. Simple 13...

Re: OFF TOPIC: VIDEO/presentation software?
Yeah, if you read the original post - I was requesting info on a SEPARATE video playback/control suite. I too, would prefer to keep these systems separate. A lot of lighting systems are also trying to intergrate basic sound and video playback, but I think that is a bad idea. First of all, bigger sho...

Re: OFF TOPIC: VIDEO/presentation software?
To be clear - I was never asking for all of that functionality from SCS 10. While I do think it's great that SCS will have limited video playback features, and that will work fine for most people, what I was asking for was advice on what other people were using to do was I was already doing, but bet...

Re: OFF TOPIC: VIDEO/presentation software?
I'm going to have to disagree with you here. Photodex ProShow Presenter does most of the things I'm looking for, it's just the the GUI isn't really set-up with theatrical productions in mind. Even powerpoint does a lot of these same things, I just hate that interface. Most theatres other than large ...

Re: OFF TOPIC: VIDEO/presentation software?
Currently - I need 3 outputs for 3 screens, but even if a control program only had one output, but had the option of network control (1 computer for each output - controlled by one master computer), that would be ideal. Having the ability to display, and manipulate images would be key. Resizing, lay...

Re: OFF TOPIC: VIDEO/presentation software?
I am currently using Photodex ProShow, but it is really not set up for theatrical-based productions, and in some ways powerpoint is actually better.
Maybe I should just find some college computer geeks, pay them in beer, and develop one myself.

OFF TOPIC: VIDEO/presentation software?
Hey everyone, I'm doing a show on a tight budget that involves multiple video projections. SOOOO, I'm looking for an affordable control software that allows CUE-BASED playback of images and video. Basically I'm looking for the image/video equivalent of SCS. And I DON'T MEAN POWERPOINT. I've been loo...

"Mute" cues
I had an idea the other night, for a new cue type - let's call it a "mute" cue. I'll try to describe it... Let's say you have one or more sound cues/files already running. Then, at the touch of the GO button, you simultaneously "mute" or "unmute" the sounds/files you choose. The files keep running, ...

Cue importing & deleting (import/export in SCS 9)
A lot of times I start a cue list from an old cue list, especially since I do an episodic show - so a lot of the cues stay the same. This has inspired me to request a couple of features that would be extremely helpful to that end. Anyway, it would be really helpful to be able to import a specific CU...

dougs, an inexpensive option for a laptop is any one of a number of products by Edirol. The have relatively cheap ($80 US) USB to audio in and out, and some more expensive ones with more options and midi in/out. I currently use 2 different Edirol products: The UA-1A and the UA-1X. Luckily, my system...

Well, you could easily trigger one cue at 10 minutes, with the 5 minute and 2 minute announcements as linked follow cues. Then you are only hitting the button one time. Personally, I think this option is better than anything auto-triggering by itself based on a perceived time of day. Sometimes it it...

FADES
Mike, I appreciate the recent work you've done on fades, though now that I've used it a bit, I still have some feedback/concerns. Fade-outs seem better, but there still is a drop off at the end (somebody else called it dropping off a cliff) of a fade, that doesn't seem to be there during fade-ins. T...
