Re: Video cues not fading in correctly
I think I've seen it during cross-fades in the past, but when it happened this week it was a fade-in with no previous slide displayed. It was a tech rehearsal so we had been skipping around and then went back to the beginning of the show, and it happened when the first backdrop was supposed to fade ...

Video cues not fading in correctly
I've noticed that every so-often a video cue with an assigned fade-in time doesn't fade in - it just stays black until the end of the assigned fade time, then it snaps on. I can't reproduce this at will, and I can't figure out what factors might be causing this behavior - it just seems to happen onc...

Re: "External (note)" cues for DMX
Thanks Mike, I would be glad to test the DMX Note capability whenever you are able to look at it. Regarding stopping audio without stopping video: I agree that a global exception (changing the existing functionality of "Stop All") wouldn't be good. Your suggested new shortcut, 'Stop all except still...

"External (note)" cues for DMX
Hi Mike, I'm not sure if this would count as a bug report, a feature request, or just a "how do I do this?" request, but I've been unable to get DMX-controlled cues to work as expected in conjunction with the "External (note)" cue activation setting. What I'm trying to do is control scenic backdrop ...

Re: Playlist volume levelling/normalisation.
+1 for me too. However, if automatic level normalization is too difficult, would it be possible to add an option to use MP3 gain tags to adjust the relative playback levels? That way we could use an external program such as MP3Gain to do the level analysis on a set of playlist tracks. If that's stil...

Re: Audio Output selection
I've been happy with the Behringer FCA610. It has 8 balanced outputs plus 2 digital outputs, 4 balanced inputs plus 2 digital. You can see the available video audio selections in my previous screen shot, and I've been able to use these DirectSound outputs for video along with ASIO outputs for audio ...

Re: Audio Output selection
I just updated my theatre computer from 11.6.0 to 11.6.2 and it's still showing the list of stereo pairs as shown in my earlier screenshot. Another thought... You might try switching from the 32-bit version of SCS to the 64-bit version, or vice-versa, and see if that makes a difference. If it does m...

Re: Audio Output selection
My screenshot was not from the latest version of SCS - I still have 11.6.0 installed at the theatre.
I'll try 11.6.2, hopefully tonight, in case this is a recently-introduced issue.
Tim.

Re: Audio Output selection
Hi Chad, From the help file's "Production Properties - Video Audio Devices" topic: "If you have selected TVideoGrabber (TVG) as the Video Playback library in Video Driver Options then you can select any available DirectSound output device for your video's audio. Although each video cue only lets you...

Re: Level "tracking"
I've been using Call cues and Callable cues when I want to use the same audio file multiple times without having adjust the level of each occurrence separately. This technique works best if you want the audio file to play exactly the same each time - I've been doing this mostly for telephones, doorb...

Re: Using a usb hub with Showcue
Like Simon, I plug high bandwidth devices such as the sound interface into separate USB ports so as to minimize the chances of interrupting the data stream to them; Everything else shares an external hub. MIDI devices don't use much bandwidth, and I would think they would be OK sharing a hub with ot...

Re: Previewing tracks before opening gone?!
I'm pretty sure Mike told me a while back that the audio preview feature isn't available in the file selector window for the 64-bit version, so if you recently changed from a 32-bit to 64-bit installation that would explain why you're no longer seeing it.

Re: USB Extention
I haven't tried the USB extension approach; instead, I take a laptop down to the house and I control my booth SCS computer remotely from the laptop. Both computers are networked via a Wi-Fi router (no internet connection necessary), and I use RealVNC for the remote control software. Works great for ...

Re: Hide mouse on video screens
OK, thanks for checking.
I just searched and found some 3rd party "mousetrap" apps that say they can confine the mouse to a single monitor, which would be sufficient for my purposes if they work as advertised.
I'll play around with them when I get a chance.
Thanks,
Tim.

Hide mouse on video screens
Hey Mike, When SCS is using secondary monitor(s) for video/still display, would it be possible to prevent the mouse cursor from begin moved onto those displays, or at least hide it if it is moved there? It's not a huge deal, but it would be one less thing to have to train our operators to watch out ...
