I can certainly shed some light on this. SCS doesn't output DMX, so if you wanted to trigger a lighting console with SCS you need to use MIDI show control. I agree, that is an interesting work around, it would be swell if we could get MTC built in,
I was using LTC as an audio file and having to go through a converter as well.
Reaper is a little pricey just to do some conversion.
