Using images for the first time

Hope someone can help me with a little issue I've been having... I'm about to run sound and images for a production of 'Oh What a Lovely War'. This is the first time I've used the image side of SCS and just wanted to know if I'm doing it correctly. I don't think the slide show setting is right for w...

Re: Using Quicktime .mov video files - newbie question

That's great Peter, thanks. I'll give that a try.

Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly. I've been dying to run video for a while!

Using Quicktime .mov video files - newbie question

Hi, I've been using SCS at my theatre group for 2 or 3 years now, but only ever for sound. We have a production coming up soon and the director wants to use a looping piece of video of sea waves for the preset as the audience come in. I've got a movie clip from Shutterstock that's a Quicktime .mov f...

Re: 'Completed' taking a long time to disappear

Good idea, Peter. I'll give that a try. Strangely, after posting that everything seemed to be working as before, it started playing up again. I discovered something, though, that may or not be related... the affected cues seemed to be ones that didn't have a couple of seconds space at the end. In ot...

Re: 'Completed' taking a long time to disappear

Hmm, all seems to be working again. At least it was last night. I decided to untick Pre Load whole file, which I had done for every cue, to see if they solved my problem. I wondered if I was maybe using too much memory. After un-ticking it appeared to be working better until I started to get skippin...

'Completed' taking a long time to disappear

Hi, I'm currently running 11.1.3 for our Christmas pantomime and am exeperiencing another little niggle that has never really been an issue before - on most of the cues, once they are complete, the 'Completed' graphic stays on screen for 3 to 4 seconds before disappearing. If I press the space bar t...

Re: vista and m audio fast track ultra ? help please!

Hi Gary, I forgot to mention in my last post that I also use an SD card. However I was still getting stuttering and lagging issues. It got to the point where I and the other sound op were panicking about pressing the space bar and nothing happening! Just about to download 11.1.3 so fingers crossed i...

Re: vista and m audio fast track ultra ? help please!

Thanks for the advice Eric and Mike. We'll be going in to rehearsals for our Christmas show this week so I'll be able to start testing 11.1.3. Agreed that 10.9.7 worked well, so I can always roll back to that if I experience any issues.

Cheers!

Re: vista and m audio fast track ultra ? help please!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I've experienced a couple of niggles during a show which I'm hoping can be answered here. I use the M Audio Fast Track Ultra with a Dell laptop running Vista at our theatre group. I tend to utilise all 6 outputs so that I can send audio FOH, DS and US. 99.9% of the...

Upgrading to SCS 11.0.1

Hi,

I'm still running 10.9.7 and about to download the upgrade. I just wanted to check that it's OK to upgrade straight to 11.0.1, or do I need to install 11 first?
I'm 99% sure it'll be fine, but I wanted to make sure first given that a lot has changed in the software.

Re: Crossfading FOH music to 'radio' on set: Looking for hel

The files are indeed linked. I never thought to actually look at how to 'unlink' them... I think my brain was hurting too much!

Thanks for the tip, I shall get it fixed asap. Top marks to this forum for the speedy help!

Crossfading FOH music to 'radio' on set: Looking for help!

Hi, I've run in to a little problem that's turning out to be a bit of a head-scratcher... My group's next production calls for opening music to be played through FOH then crossfades to a speaker on stage for a radio. In SCS I have a Q1 which is the 'normal' music and on Q2 an 'EQ'd/filtered' version...
