Re: Redraw of cue window stalling hotkey cues

Sure thing!

I've taken a little video to demonstrate the problem:

And here are the four sound files for the keys A-D:

Pretty short, and nothing really special :)

Re: Redraw of cue window stalling hotkey cues

Okay, I've tried it with 1.6.2 (next older version I still had), and I was wrong. In 1.6 it's even worse, because there is no delay before the cue panel full redraw, so it's redrawn EVERY time a hotkey cue is triggered. Here's a suggestion for a workaround: Would it be possible to suppress the re-dr...

Re: Redraw of cue window stalling hotkey cues

Here's the log file of a test session. I loaded my project, placed the play cursor on the first cue, and then went to town with the hotkeys - experiencing the mentioned delays. Then I move the playcursor to the last cue, and do the same again - no delays. Then I open the editor, and it takes about 2...

[Fix 11.7.1.1] Redraw of cue window stalling hotkey cues

Hi! I'm not sure at which version this began happening, but I don't remember having this problem with 11.6. It happens at least with 1.7.0 and 1.7.1 - I can't cross check with older versions right now, I'm afraid. When repeatedly triggering hotkey cues (like say, gunshots), the sound plays with a de...

Re: Stuff we do with SCS :)

Well, to my soundguy's credit, that's what he did the moment my machine rebooted. But this is such a rare occurence, he didn't immediately realize what was happening (and he was sitting in front of me in the booth, so he didn't have a line of sight to my monitor.). And maybe I should have mentioned ...

Stuff we do with SCS :)

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a little video with you guys. We've been acvid SCS users for a couple of years now, and we're using it to run a puppet show. It's a full theatrical play in three acts, running time is about 2 hours. We're using SCS to play out 4-channel surround sound on 10 channels t...

[Fix 11.3.1] Video Playback in 1.3 rc7 stalls audio playback

Hi! I'm not sure if this is technically a bug ... I think it's more accurately described as a performance issue. Starting a video cue apparently stalls the main audio thread for long enough to cause running audio cues to stutter - unless I set my ASIO buffer size to obscenely large values. Setting t...

Moving Sub-Cues (10.8.1)

I've got a sporadic problem in the editor of V10.8.1 ... I've got a cue with multiple sub-cues. When trying to move sub-cues up and down in the list using the arrow buttons, I am sometimes getting erratic behaviour and crashes, or "Sanity Check" error boxes. I haven't quite figured out yet, what ste...

Re: Cut-Off fades / Audible Volume Steppings

I've had the chance to try the sound server now ... and results are interesting. Fade-in is smooth ... fade-out is entirely cut off. Which means ... it does fade in my test signal just fine. Fade-Out just doesn't happen, the sample cuts out way before the fade-out point. Again I'm using a 5 second s...

Re: Speaker Assignments

Installed 10.8 RC 3 ... and the device mapper does exactly what I need! And the Sound Devices Tab in the production properties dialogue is now also a lot more intuitive, too. Thanks a lot, that was a very worthwile addition :)

Re: Cut-Off fades / Audible Volume Steppings

I suggest you try the SoundMan-Server option now available in a Release Candidate for SCS 10.8 - see this topic. The demo version of SoundMan-Server only supports 2 outputs but this should be enough for you to test the fades etc. If this looks like a promising solution then Richmond Sound Design ar...

Speaker Assignments

Hello there :) I've got an 8-channel audio interface, which I would like to use to simultaneously play back two 4-channel WAV file cues on. I have no problem creating one 6-channel output (using the "5.1" speaker setup), and one 2-channel output (selecting the remaining two channels as stereo output...

Cut-Off fades / Audible Volume Steppings

Hello everyone! I'm a complete newbie with SCS, so maybe I've missed something in the documentation. I've got two problems using fades on a cue. Generally, fading in and out are horribly unprecise. For test purposes, I'm playing a single sine wave, to which I've added a short fade-in and fade-out ti...
