Re: SoundMan-Server in SCS 11
Loren says: I've tried to duplicate this with two telnet sessions and can't, but then I don't have SCS installed. Maybe Mike can try it and see if he can duplicate it. If so, the log might be interesting.

Re: SoundMan-Server in SCS 11
Hi Barney - I will report your results regarding the telnet invalidity to the developer and find out what might be happening. SM-S doesn't accept MSC directly, only via SoundMan-Designer. Charlie

SoundMan-Server users in the UK
Hello to all of you! I am in London for a while and would be pleased to meet or chat with any SM-S users wishing to connect and talk about their experiences. We always appreciate any feedback we can get!

Re: Custom Rackmount PC for SCS
Richard: We do but the ones we build would have to be shipped to the UK from the US and I would recommend you talk with Scott George at Autograph Sound Recording in London for a closer solution. Cheers!

Re: Continuous music - separate tracks such as a classical p
OK, I understand although you can also specify exact start and stop times for individual files as well, not just the same one in a repeating or looping situation.

Re: Continuous music - separate tracks such as a classical p
Use the Repeat command: http://www.richmondsounddesign.com/soundman-script.html#rep The repeat point as well as the end point (using the STOP command) can be specified down to sample precision and these commands can be put into scripts as well. Plus the repeat command can be turned on and off at wil...

Re: Continuous music - separate tracks such as a classical p
I just want to chime in that with the SoundMan-Server engine, it is possible to do seamless audio joins of tracks during playback although I don't know how exactly the tools in SCS are able to set this up at this point..... Obviously it's something that can be done....

Re: Multiple ASIO device support.....in SCS 11
SCS using SoundMan-Server has the option of aggregating multiple ASIO drivers natively.

Re: supported audio devices
Why would you want Mike to spend the huge amount of time required to make an OSX version of SCS when you can just run it trouble free in Parallels on any Mac? Or for that matter, trouble free on a much cheaper Windows computer?
Please explain...

Re: Delay Compensation
If you use the SoundMan-Server audio engine version of SCS, you can do internal delays for each output and even specific delays at each crosspoint and vary them over time without artifacts. I'm not sure exactly how SCS provides the controls for these at this point however.

Re: Planning for Live Input
1) Will the Live Input cue only be useable through SoundMan-Server or could we use it with any audio device that has inputs? I can answer this part of the question: Yes, it will require SoundMan-Server but we are working on a pricing schedule that will make the version of SM-S that is bundled with ...

Re: Single button external control?
I've had an email from someone who wants to trigger a sequence of SCS cues from a button in a public display at an exposition. So ideally we are looking for a robust single button unit that can send a pre-programmed MIDI or RS232 message. Any suggestions? http://ducksechosound.com/ They don't have ...

Re: Planning for Live Input
We have reached the limit of our desk (K2/24) but need to expand the inputs, Our options are 1. buy a bigger desk (expensive) 2. daisy chain a smaller FX8 desk into the K2 (clumsy, takes up room and the additional inputs would not be midi controlled by SCS) 3. use the 10 inputs available on our sou...

Re: Planning for Live Input
I think you have capsulised what we discussed quite well, Mike! I'm tempted to jump into some of the later phase ideas now but will restrain myself..... Suffice it to say that SoundMan-Server already supports all of the features Mike has described and it's really a matter of having him create the be...
