Re: Losing USB port connection

Hi there, We use an Audiobox USB with various Toshiba laptops for small shows and conferences and haven't had the problem you're getting, but here's some things that may help. The Audiobox is a USB 1 device and must be plugged into the USB port it was plugged into when the device drivers were instal...

Re: "Crackle" when using a Laptop

another thing that can cause noise is using the wrong USB port. when I plug our audiobox into the port that it was plugged into when the drivers were installed everything works fine using the correct driver and no noise. But if it's plugged into a different port the computer uses a generic microsoft...

Re: "Crackle" when using a Laptop

We've had this problem too with all sorts of laptops, PC and Mac. Switched mode power supplies dump all sorts of rubbish to earth, which I think causes the problem. One thing I've found which can help reduce the problem is to plug the laptops PSU into a different mains supply to the PA (traditionall...

SCS 11 operational mode

Hi all

If you switch scs to performance mode with the tool bar hidden, how do you open the options and setting window to get back to design mode?
I haven't tried it yet as I'm worried about getting stuck in performance mode.

Re: Set default time in Fade cue

Why didn't I think of that?
Just about every lighting desk i've ever used has a default fade time somewhere in it's settings. It makes sence for SCS to do the same thing.

Are you using the internal mixer? It's needed for ASIO sound cards

Re: GO Button Disabled Bug

why not just set the end time of the audio cue to 46s (+the fade time) and get rid of the SFR cue altogether?

Re: 10.8.5 - stuttering fade during short loop

I guess the problem is being caused by the length of the loop being shorter than the fade time. Assuming you're currently using a SFR cue set to 'fade out then stop' to stop the audio, a possible work arround might be to set the SFR cue to 'release from loop and play to end', then set the end point ...

Re: Stopping Time Clocks

Hi I had something similar happen when running a test to see just how many cues SCS could play at once. With a daft number of cues (about 40) all playing at once, unsuprisingly the displays became very slow to update, the audio seemed to be fine, as far as I could tell with all that noise going on. ...

Re: Image Cues

Hi all, I agree with Martin, it would be good if the cue list window could auto scroll so that the highlighted cue, usually the next manual cue, is kept somewhere near the middle of the cue list window. When you have a couple of very long cues, e.g. background ambience that last the whole scene, wit...

Re: Image fade in and out (in 10.5.0)

Hi Mike

Have you looked at the VLC API http://www.videolan.org/developers/vlc.html, VLC is our prefered media player, as quicktime seems to be horribly processor hungry and windows media player is just plain rubbish. Also VLC is open source.

Re: Potential Floating Point Error with null audio?

Hi all, I remember reading somewhere that true digital silence, i.e. all bits set to zero, is a bad idea, it causes digital distortion. Something to do with the fact that with a 16 bit recording the maximum s/n ratio is about -96dB and truncation errors and dithering. My understanding of all this is...
