Thanks for the tip, Mike.
Given the shortness of the time and the number of cues (over 200 cues, and we all have day jobs), I think we're just going to buy another M-Audio 410 today.

Thanks Gentlemen
Thanks, Malcolm and Mike. I guess we'll have to convert all our cues to mono and assign 8 specific speakers instead of 4 stereo pairs.

Panning on Realtek HD sound on motherboard
Hi- Our M-Audio 410 has become unreliable and we have temporarily reverted to the Realteck 7.1 HD audio on the motherboard. Everything seems to work okay, except the SCS pan control. The sound always comes out of both sides of the stereo pairs, ignoring the SCS pan setting. Does anyone have any expe...

Tascam PCI-822
Does anyone have any experience with SCS and the Tascam PCI-822? We are using a Behringer DDX3216. With TDIF cards for this mixer under $50US, we are considering going to a pure digital setup. The Tascam PCI-822 is a PCI card that gives the computer 8 TDIF I/O channels. Does anyone know if SCS can c...

ADAT soundcards supported by SCS
I'm using SCS successfully with an M-Audio 410 into a Behringer DDX3216 mixer. The mixer can take ADAT input and I'd like to use that. Can anyone recommend an ADAT solution that works with SCS?
Thanks

Mixing Mic and Line inputs with SCS
Can an SCS control a Mic or Line input?
I have SCS Pro and an M-Audio 410.
I would like to plug a Mic into the 410 and turn it on and off and route it to different speakers using SCS. Can SCS do this or does it only control sound files?

E-MU - Creative issues?
I know SCS has issues with Creative Audigy hardware. Do those issues extend to the E-MU line of professional Creative hardware? An E-MU 1616m looks like it will meet my needs. I like the PCMCIA laptop interface and ADAT support. Am I likely to have any issues running SCS on this sound card? Thanks- ...

Thanks Mike and d. We had not considered the issue of encoding on the fly. At any rate, we have since learned the S/PDIF on HP laptops is stereo only, not 5.1. I guess we'll look into AES and ADAT or wait to see how HDMI gets realized in computers. All of those formats can send 8 uncompressed PCM st...

S/PDIF multichannel digital output
We plan to set up a pure digital system using 5.1 S/PDIF output from the computer going directly to a 5.1 digital amplifier through coax cable (no mixer). We plan to use the built-in digital output from an HP laptop. Will SCS have any trouble with this system? Will we be able to send cues to all 6 c...
