What a phenomenal piece of software
|
- Just wanted to say what a phenomenal piece of software you've created. I compose and sound design for Maverick Theatre in the UK, and have used SCS for a number of its productions. This includes a one man "Henry V" which depended very heavily on the music and sound effects with over 200 complex cues and crossfades only previously achievable with a bank of keyboards and samplers running off cubase.
- I find SCS to be completely intuitive with a perfectly logical front and backend. For the price of SCS you couldn't even buy a decent single minidisc player let alone 2 which would be far less versatile. So congratulations on an excellent product which fully deserves to become an industry standard interface for theatre sound cueing! :)

Where have you been all my life?
|
- We've been using various methods of delivering backing tracks for our three piece band and none with much success. Compromises in audio quality and quantity were the norm. We stumbled across your software after doing internet searches and I must say that I am ecstatic. Instead of a bland mono mix from a two track we now have 6 stereo channels of brilliant 48khz audio. We are running your software through a 12 channel Echo Firewire interface. The sound is amazing, the control is intuitive. Next step is DMX control for the lighting. Great job and keep up the great work.

SCS proved to be a huge success
|
- I have recently bought SCS and I am delighted to tell you that it has made an enormous diference to the sound operation of our productions here, I work for the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, part of Dundee College and have for a long time been considering changing over to a PC based system for our production sound, our most recent production was a degree performance with 20 separate pieces of choreography by our students spread over 2 nights, with students making their own soundtracks and video for pieces usually it would be somewhat chaotic trying to organise all of the cd's and dvd's they would hand over sometimes just before the beginning of the tech rehearsal.
- I was delighted to find that SCS now included video playback as well as audio, this was exactly what I required and having just finished our first production of the term it has proved to be a huge success, being able to create a playlist for each show and roll the video and audio with such precision is essential in making these productions work as they take place over such a short period of time with little time to rehearse, also being able to load all of the separate elements of some of the students sound and adjust the timings to the performance has been enlightening for them, normally these soundtracks would be pre-mixed and being able to hold the cue till the dancer is where they should be makes an enormous difference.
- I am very happy indeed with the performance of SCS and having tried various other applications it beats them all, I would recommend it to anyone.

We would not have even considered such a complex sound plot without SCS
|
- I have been using SCS Professional for a year now. The last show our theatre staged was "The Darling Buds of May". During the cocktail party scene the sound was layered in such a way that to pull it off without SCS would have required 3-4 CD or MD players. We would not have even considered such a complex sound plot without SCS... it would have been too much work for the sound operator and too much potential for mistakes. It is nice to have the director ask "Can you add in some..." and I can answer "Yes, give me a minute" without having to source another player or chop up a sound effect before it is usable. This software helps to perpetuate the Superman image of the sound designer.
- I do not hesitate in recommending SCS to anyone who is serious about theatre sound.

A resounding "well done!" on the new video cues feature
|
- "We've used SCS for several years in our church, but now with version 10 I just HAD to write and give you a resounding "well done!" on the new video cues feature. It is EXACTLY what we needed. While the whole concept of including video had the potential to terribly bloat the program and complicate it to the point of near uselessness, you have managed to implement this perfectly. It simply plays the video...WHEN you want it to...and then it STOPS...end of story. No ALT-TAB-ing to another program, no trying to stop it before it plays the next file on the playlist, no worries about blanking/enabling the second monitor/projection output...IT JUST WORKS."

An outstanding tool
|
- "I just wanted to let you know that we have used your program now for almost a year. It has made all the difference in our precision when it comes to mute groups and sound cues. EVERYONE has remarked about how smooth our shows have been technically and it is all because of SCS.
I recommend it to everyone on any level. It is an outstanding tool to have."

SCS works brilliantly
|
- During 2006 Mark Ware accepted a commission for an interactive sound sculpture to be located at Toynbee School, Eastleigh, near Southampton, UK (completed and installed during January 2008). The result was eight external Sound Posts with sounds sent to each post individually or in any combination using SCS.
- Mark says "SCS works brilliantly with the Sound Posts and I plan to recommend it for future projects that involve sound." In his report on the project, Mark writes: "The benefit behind using SCS software for students is that it allows for varying levels of creativity, from simple playback of audio to much more complex combinations. During testing and evaluation I noted that it took a very little amount of time to understand and use the SCS software - an essential feature when it comes to teaching schoolchildren."

SCS proved to be incredibly easy to master
|
- Over the summer season we created about 10 pieces of new theatre, 8 of which
relied heavily on SCS. We are using the latest Professional version. Victory
Street was the show with the heaviest use of SCS. The show
file included about 40-50 Midi triggers to
run the AV, which was played from 3x Arkaos Machines. Midi also triggered a
Yamaha 01V96, Akai S6000 as well as playing sound effects and music, via 10
outputs, routed to a surround array of D&B speakers. SCS proved to be incredibly easy to master, with technical members
programming shows in no time at all."

Terrific software, easy to use, ludicrously flexible
|
- "We have a production of Francis Durbridge's Deadly Nightshade. 70+ sound cues from 4 different speaker (1 stereo + 3 mono) sources + bar music and timed public safety announcements. It is also controlling the stage foldback monitors via midi and sending a VOX trigger to the lighting desk during the (inevitable) thunderstorm!
We opened this evening to a full house, and the sound plot ran superbly.
Terrific software, easy to use, ludicrously flexible, and a fraction of the price of some of your competitors.
Well done, and thanks."

Teaching an operator who'd never seen the program before was extremely easy
|
- "First off thanks for a simple, intuitive, and extremely efficient program. You'll be glad to know that my production
period went extremely well and thanks to SCS and the Laptop / Audio interface I spec'd it made things extremely flexible for playing things in rehearsals, to then 10 mins later beginning my soundcheck in the auditorium. Also teaching an
operator who'd never seen the program before to use and program by the end of the day was extremely easy. Fantastic."

I have been able to flawlessly provide everything the play calls for (and more)
|
- "Just wanted to say thanks again for the excellent tool you have created in Sound Cue System.
I have almost completed my whole sound design and have been able to flawlessly provide everything the play calls for
(and more) because of the way the tool works. The feature that I find most useful is the ability to run multiple
sound files at the same time. It means that I dont have to be stuck into a recording/re-recording cycle as the
Director wants to make minor changes. Well done!"
